SYNOPSIS

BUREO

BUREO is the story of a young company at its tipping point. A trio of surfers abandons the safety of their corporate careers to tackle the problem of ocean waste. The result is a brand that makes skateboards from recycled fishing nets. Bureo garnered some early publicity because of its innovative nets-to-decks idea, but it’s uncertain if the company will make the leap from scrappy start-up to a real force for social change, whilst becoming a top contender in the crusier skateboard market.   The aim for Bureo is to transcend their social enterprise to become a mainstream brand. Above it all it’s a story about trust and friendship and, ultimately, about the triumph of spirit in an all-too cynical world.
